Wheel Throwing Classes     All of the wheel classes meet once a week - on the same day at the same time each week.

Have you dreamed of being Demi Moore in Ghost?  Well, we don't have Patrick Swayze, but we still have loads of fun!

 

Beginning Wheel Classes: Ongoing - Check flyer on home page for most recent dates.

Tuesdays 2p-4p or Thursdays 2p-4p or Thursdays 6-8 or Saturdays 10-12.

Skill Level: Beginner

This class is for adults who have either very little or no experience on the wheel.  The fee includes 6 weeks of classes, one day/night per week for 2 hours, all firings and glazes.  In this class you'll learn the basics of wheel throwing, including cylinders, bowls, mugs, and plates. Fee: $215 + approx $35 one time for supplies

 

Intermediate & Advanced Wheel Classes:  Ongoing - Check flyer on home page for most recent dates.

Tuesdays 10-12 or Tuesdays 6p-8p or Wednesdays 6-8pm or Thursdays 10am-12pm

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced

If you've had some experience on the wheel, this is the class for you! The fee includes 6 weeks of classes, once per week for 2 hours, all firings and glazes.  We'll expand on the basics you've already learned and learn additional skills, depending on student interests.  Some options are one piece boxes, pots with lids, vases, bottles, double wall pieces, sgraffito, using sodium silicate, teapots, etc.  Fee:  $215 + clay

Try It! Wheel Class

Want to throw but not commit to a full six week class?  This is your chance to try it out.  You'll spend about 2 hours making some bowls and in the following weeks we'll finish your pieces for you. We'll trim, fire, glaze (you choose the glaze), and fire again.  They'll be ready in about 3 weeks.  Fee: $75 per person

Project Classes

 

Handbuilding Project Class:

 

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

For beginners, this is the perfect way to get your feet wet in the clay world.  Or should I say, the perfect way to get your hands muddy?!?  The fee includes everything you'll need including clay, glazes, and firing. You'll handbuild a specific item in a class that lasts 2-3 hours. You can make your piece look just like Martha's, or even better you can let your creative juices flow and make your own design.  We'll work together to come up with the perfect design/color for you!  You will then return approximately 2 weeks later to glaze the piece. Fee:  $45-95 depending on project.

Open Studio Time

Fridays and Saturdays 10a-5p; Sundays 1p-5p

Skill Level: All, must be able to work independently

Perfect for the student who wants to work at their own pace on their own project. Each student brings their own clay and tools, or purchases them at the studio. The fee includes firings and the use of studio glazes.  There is also a large collection of tools, molds, and textures which students are welcome to use.  Fee: $14/hr or $40/3 hours

 

Private or Group Classes

We are happy to set up individual or group classes.  Prices vary for customized group lessons.  If you have an idea of what you would like to do, or if you need suggestions, just get in touch.  We'll be glad to customize something for you!
